So, Kent left us a week ago, and has been settling in nicely, except that they apparently have a lot of mice (Mum will like that), and he is already making requests for me to send things to make it a bit more comfortable. Here are a couple photos from his going away:

Since then, Jacob has been doing great. He decided that he did like to sleep better once there was one less in the bed. We've been very busy with various things, but Jacob has still found the time to keep working on new skills. He continues to rock back and forth on his knees, but is starting to go forward once in a while (by accident, I think). As well, he is learning to get around quite well, and go far, by rolling and twisting, etc. I've been trying to have him stand up at furniture more often, and he balances really well at that (but I have to stay very close by). I even tried holding his hands and forcing him to take some steps. Well today, I didn't have to force.. he did it on his own (once or twice). And lastly, Jacob has now sat himself up (from laying down) twice. And both times I have not seen him do it. I turn my back, and when I look again he is sitting up. I even second guessed myself, thinking that maybe I was imagining it that he had been laying down. But i'm pretty sure he has figured it out, but refuses to do it when I'm looking. So, things are definately changing in this household.

We had a nice trip to Red Deer last weekend. Jacob's cousins' had a ball playing peek a boo with him to make him giggle. They all loved to help me feed him, bath him, and carry him around. But nobody was having anything to do with diaper changes. I even have a great picture of Jacob after deciding to turn his head at the wrong time when I was trying to feed him some sweet potatoes.

On that note, feeding is going better. He loves his oatmeal in the mornings, and puffed rice at lunch or supper. We tried broccoli tonight for supper, and he loved it. So i'm thinking he's a green vegetable kind of guy. Oh well.. I went for groceries today and got lot's more veggies to start trying new things on him, now that things have settled a bit and I have more time to make food.
Anyway, that's about all for now. This was really just a trial to see if I"m doing this right anyway. Tomorrow is another busy day, as I'm starting my new job at the MFRC, helping with playgroup, so that should be interesting.

Kristine, great idea! I'm sure Kent will be thrilled. You'll have to shows us all how to set up a blog. Congrats on your job too!!
