Finally, I"ll put up a couple videos of Jacob talking (his vocabulary is really growing now! He says mum, mum, mum now.. but of course not on camera). Also, a video of him playing with his new drum!
Easter was lot's of fun. Jacob got spoiled, of course, and actually even found some eggs on his own, now that he's mobile, which was very exciting! Speaking of which.. my life is now a whole lot more exhausting, as he's very quick, and notices new things to chase immediately (like open pantry doors, etc). He is forever going over to the nintendo, dogs's dishes, vents in the floors of the bathroom, and anything else I don't want him touching. So it's been fun, to say the least. It's also made for some interesting pictures, of the various situations Jacob can now get himself into. They'll explain themselves...
Otherwise, the only other pictures that were worth putting on here, were Jacob showing off his new fuzzi bunz diapers! I am so excited about these diapers already, and it's only been 3 days. But it's been 3 days of NO DISPOSABLES!!! I'm going to miss them when we travel! Here's a video of Jacob laughing at Katie outside on the deck...
Here's a video of Jacob on the slide at the indoor Playground in St. Albert!
Showing off his outfit from Grandma and Grandpa Windover!
Playing at the indoor playground with Rylea! He actually rocked it himself!
Biting the mesh of the playpen in the changeroom of the pool!
Here's a video that Abby took of Jacob on his first waterslide adventure!
K, these took forever to upload, so I"m going to post this, and then do a seperate one for the other videos.. i can't choose between them!
Then Saturday we had a day at home. We skipped swimming lessons again this week because we were both to sick to go. We just relaxed at home and got ready for our company that night. We had 6 other spouses from Kent's unit over for a pot luck, and it was lot's of fun. Jacob decided to be a clown and get one of his puffed wheat in his nose. Sorry the pics are so blurry.
Then on Sunday, we had another pot luck brunch on the base for deployment families. It was nice, and great food again! Jacob had a blast watching all the big kids run around. Then we came home and got Katie and went to the off leash park with Jo-Ann and her dogs. This was the first time Jacob rode in just the stroller and got to watch all the dogs. I didn't have the camera with me, but got a nice picture of both of them post walk. I must have forgotten what spring is like down there. Katie didn't get a walk.. she got a swim... in all of the puddles. So much for the money I spent having her groomed on Friday.
Then today we just relaxed at home again and took a sick day. The rest of the week is going to be very busy, so I knew we needed a day at home to relax and get some things done on the to-do list around here.
Anyway, I better get to bed because I"m sure it'll be another long night.
Anyway, the weekend had also been rough because I didn't hear from Kent for a few days, and I started to go a bit crazy. Not necessarily with worry ("no news is good news"), but just that I had so much happen, and just needed to vent to my best friend, so I could move on. He finally called on Monday, and I was immediately better and could carry on with the errands I needed to get done that day. It was still a few days before we were able to have a good conversation that wasn't cut short for some reason (today actually), but at least I got to hear his voice!
As for mr. jacob this week. I've decided to stop trying to give him purreed food for the most part. He's had ground up chicken for the past two nights and loved it. We also just chopped up some stir fry veggies really small, but unless he could pick them up himself, he wasn't interested. I also started him on puffed wheat this week which has been a hit. So he's starting to get a little more variety in his diet. Also, we have a little safe feeder mesh thing, that I was avoiding using, because I didn't want him to get used to eating that way. But in desperation yesterday, I put some banana in it, and lo and behold.. he likes bananas.. just only when he can feed them to himself. But, we tried pears in there this morning, and he wasn't in the mood. But here's some cute pics from him eating the banana!
And this next photo is purely for Kent's benefit, if he ever gets a chance to check in. See, Kent loves to bug me about being a drama queen whenever I stub my toe. What he doesn't realize is that when he's not around to benefit from my "show", I really don't complain at all. Well, tonight while cooking supper, I splashed my arms with hot oil when dumping in the chicken. I rubbed it off quickly and kept going. But while doing the dishes, I noticed a big red burn on my arm and just had to take a picture for Kent.. so that I could be a "drama queen" for him about it! So, hun.. here's my booboo.. I'll make Jacob kiss it better! lol
Lastly, I took several video over the last couple of days, but accidentally switched it to compact somewhere along the lines. But we did get a nice one of him "trying" to walk with Jo-Ann last Saturday, so I was able to get it on video. It's amazing, but in only a few short days he's already way more sturdy at doing this then in the video. Nevertheless.. here it is..
A chance for us to let friends and family know what's going on, and to help them watch our son, Jacob grow. Also, a chance for Kent to check in and see what we're up to.
