Anyway, the weekend had also been rough because I didn't hear from Kent for a few days, and I started to go a bit crazy. Not necessarily with worry ("no news is good news"), but just that I had so much happen, and just needed to vent to my best friend, so I could move on. He finally called on Monday, and I was immediately better and could carry on with the errands I needed to get done that day. It was still a few days before we were able to have a good conversation that wasn't cut short for some reason (today actually), but at least I got to hear his voice!
As for mr. jacob this week. I've decided to stop trying to give him purreed food for the most part. He's had ground up chicken for the past two nights and loved it. We also just chopped up some stir fry veggies really small, but unless he could pick them up himself, he wasn't interested. I also started him on puffed wheat this week which has been a hit. So he's starting to get a little more variety in his diet. Also, we have a little safe feeder mesh thing, that I was avoiding using, because I didn't want him to get used to eating that way. But in desperation yesterday, I put some banana in it, and lo and behold.. he likes bananas.. just only when he can feed them to himself. But, we tried pears in there this morning, and he wasn't in the mood. But here's some cute pics from him eating the banana!
And this next photo is purely for Kent's benefit, if he ever gets a chance to check in. See, Kent loves to bug me about being a drama queen whenever I stub my toe. What he doesn't realize is that when he's not around to benefit from my "show", I really don't complain at all. Well, tonight while cooking supper, I splashed my arms with hot oil when dumping in the chicken. I rubbed it off quickly and kept going. But while doing the dishes, I noticed a big red burn on my arm and just had to take a picture for Kent.. so that I could be a "drama queen" for him about it! So, hun.. here's my booboo.. I'll make Jacob kiss it better! lol
Lastly, I took several video over the last couple of days, but accidentally switched it to compact somewhere along the lines. But we did get a nice one of him "trying" to walk with Jo-Ann last Saturday, so I was able to get it on video. It's amazing, but in only a few short days he's already way more sturdy at doing this then in the video. Nevertheless.. here it is..

ohmygosh he is so cute. I can't believe how big he's getting! Luke never liked mushed bananas either, only in the mesh feeder or in little chunks he would eat. Same with avocado, does Jacob like that? I'm so glad you got to talk to Kent! :)
